DB Schenker customers can calculate their own environmental impact. The Ecological Transport Information Tool (EcoTransIT) compares the environmental impact of transport by rail, road, sea and air, as well as by Combined Transport.

With the EcoTransIT internet application, DB Schenker provides an online tool which, in addition to the efficiency of transport, also shows its environmental impact, depending on the selected transport systems. With just a few clicks, EcoTransIT compares the energy consumption and emissions of CO2 and pollutants from freight trains, trucks, ships, airplanes and combined transport within Europe. In the future, the “EcoTransIT World” application will be able to calculate the energy and emissions data of global transport chains.

EcoTransIT supports sustainability management

Industrial companies that have their own sustainability management are increasing their use of EcoTransIT and opting for transport solutions that are not only economically, but also environmentally sustainable. The online application can be used in the context of Eco-Audit Regulation EMAS II and DIN ISO 14001.
