Professor Ralf Elbert to head DB Schenker endowed Chair
skip: Professor Ralf Elbert to head DB Schenker endowed ChairThe new chair and the affiliated DB Schenker Laboratories at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Technische Universität (TU) Berlin will focus on the management of logistics services as well as the design, control and development of transport networks.
Professor Elbert (age 35) had held the Hessenmetall endowed junior professorship at the TU Darmstadt since 2007. His primary areas of research are cluster and value chain management in logistics. Elbert, an industrial engineering graduate and holder of a doctorate degree, worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Professor Hans-Christian Pfohl´s chair of corporate management and logistics from 2004 to 2007. In 2005 his dissertation was awarded with the German Logistics Association’s (BVL) International German Science Award for Logistics. During his studies at the TU Darmstadt, he was also employed at the Georgia State University in Atlanta.
